To learn more about my recommendations, feel free to contact me. I develop on a Windows workstation, and deploy to UNIX or Windows servers. For web site development, I use and recommend these tools.Software Macromedia HomeSite - HTML hand-coding with syntax highlighting. WS_FTP LE - Free FTP client. PuTTY - Free telnet and SSH client. WebPosition - Create and manage search-engine-friendly web pages. Google Toolbar - Track how Google ranks you and your competitors.
Neureal.com - Web hosting, good control panel for UNIX hosting. A nice feature is the ability to host multiple domain names for a single low monthly fee. GoDaddy.com - Domain names, at least, can be good fast and cheap. Wordtracker - Search engine research database.
I also use and recommend these general business tools.Stamps.com Internet Postage - I use this to print all my mailing labels for packages and large envelopes. For $5 a month I never have to wait in line at the post office. You'll need a decent printer (I use a laser printer) and a scale. eFax - Receive faxes for free via email. For a small fee, print any document to fax over the Internet. Very convenient and flexible, and arguably you'll save money over the cost of buying and maintaining a fax machine. MasterBell long distance phone cards - I call Germany a lot, and I buy my long distance phone cards from MasterBell.com. Follow this link to browse current phone card prices. |
